A STORY OF DISCIPLINE, PURPOSE, AND UNAPOLOGETIC CREATIVITY
The Beginning
The Foundation

from the field to the flame
After retiring from professional football, Tobias turned his relentless drive toward the kitchen, training at top culinary schools across the United States and Italy.
This global foundation shaped his signature cooking style — an elevated fusion of Asian inspiration, West African soul, and Italian technique, all grounded in the taste memories of his Maryland upbringing.
Creating A Movement

rising in the culinary world
Tobias’s rise gained national momentum in 2019 when he curated an exclusive dinner at the iconic James Beard House, solidifying his position as one of the most dynamic culinary voices in America.
His entrepreneurial path began even earlier with the Victory Food Truck, a grassroots movement that brought his bold flavors directly to the streets and laid the groundwork for his future restaurants.
Creating An Empire
Restaurants that Define a Movement
To date, Tobias has opened or co-opened six restaurants, including two flagship concepts that represent the core of The Huncho Experience

A Cultural Catalyst Through Food
Tobias’s influence extends far beyond restaurant walls. He has cooked for over 100 athletes, entertainers, and celebrities, redefining what a chef can represent in food, media, lifestyle, and culture. His work continues to push boundaries and inspire new generations of creators.
In 2024, his dedication and innovation were recognized when he was named Maryland Chef of the Year, a defining milestone in an already extraordinary career.

A Story of Survival & Strength
On November 5th, 2023, Tobias survived a life-threatening incident where he was shot 11 times.
His recovery has been a profound testament to resilience — powered by the heart of an athlete, the spirit of a warrior, and an unwavering will to rise.
